A Supportive Space for Counseling and EMDR Therapy
Our on-site and virtual Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) provides a safe, confidential space to address life's challenges.
Counseling is often the first step in understanding what’s happening beneath the surface. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself or others, counseling offers a place to slow down and make sense of your experience without judgment.
Through talk therapy (psychotherapy), you can work to understand and manage feelings, change unhealthy patterns, and develop coping strategies for anxiety, depression, stress and life transitions.
Counseling is not about “fixing” you. It’s about increasing awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping you respond to life with more flexibility and intention.
How Counseling Supports Anxiety, Depression, and Stress
Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress often show up in both emotional and physical ways. Racing thoughts, emotional shutdown, irritability, tension, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating are common signals that your nervous system is under strain.
Counseling helps you:
- Identify patterns that keep you stuck.
- Understand emotional triggers and responses.
- Develop practical coping strategies.
- Build emotional resilience over time.
This process allows you to respond to stressors more effectively rather than feeling controlled by them.
When Counseling Alone Isn’t Enough
While talk therapy is highly effective for many concerns, some experiences, especially trauma, can remain “stuck” in the nervous system despite insight and understanding. You may know logically that something is over, but your body and emotions continue to react as if it’s still happening.
For deeper trauma work, we offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy.
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR is an extensively researched, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess disturbing memories, reducing their lingering emotional and physical impact.
Traumatic experiences are often stored differently in the brain than everyday memories. EMDR therapy works by activating the brain’s natural healing processes so these memories can be processed and integrated more adaptively.
It allows healing to occur much more rapidly than with talk therapy alone.

How EMDR Therapy Works
EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories that have not been fully resolved. Instead of reliving the experience, the brain is supported in re-organizing how the memory is stored, pruning out information that is no longer needed like physical sensations in your body.
Over time, the emotional charge associated with the memory decreases, and the memory becomes something that happened rather than something that feels like it is still happening.
Who Benefits from EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy can be helpful for individuals experiencing:
- Trauma or PTSD
- Childhood or developmental trauma
- Medical trauma
- Accidents or sudden loss
- Persistent anxiety
- Emotional responses that feel disproportionate or uncontrollable
- And more
EMDR does not require detailed verbal retelling of traumatic events, making it a supportive option for those who struggle to talk about their experiences.
Integrating Counseling and EMDR Therapy
Counseling and EMDR therapy are often most effective when used together. Counseling helps build emotional safety, coping skills, and self-awareness. EMDR therapy addresses unresolved trauma that continues to influence thoughts, emotions, and physical reactions.
This integrated approach supports both insight and nervous system regulation, creating deeper and more sustainable healing.
